It’s not Fair!

Summary

The pundit returns to his pessimism, this time pointing out the observable injustice of the world. He does this by contrasting human beings and animals. His point is that humans, having been given the ability to reason and a conscience should be more just than the animal kingdom. Yet, in his experience, this isn’t the case. Instead, people run around justifying barbaric acts and creating systems of injustice. They actually use their ability to reason as a means of acting like animals. Ethics, without a meaning of life, has nothing to brace itself on. It becomes an irrational system based on whatever the mood of the moment is (don’t be on the wrong side of history). However, there will be a reckoning. There will be justice. Knowing that gives ground for morality.
