Jesus addresses the issue of faith through the healing of the boy with a mute spirit. In it, He shows us that faith is primarily about where you put your hope. It is not about your ability to create faith, but about who you trust in.

Jesus goes from teaching His disciples about dying to yourself to a lesson on glory. As He transfigure in front of them, sitting with the law and the prophets, Jesus is making a statement about the eternal plan of God and how the fullest picture of glory is found in His gracious sacrifice.

Jesus asks two questions of the disciples. The first is: who do they say that I am? This gets a varied response. He then asks them: who do you say that I am? Peter declares: You are the Christ! From here, Jesus shows them what it means to live this out.

Jesus feeds the four thousand. This is not just a lesser miracle than the 5,000, this is Jesus pressing in on the fact that what we need is not material and physical. What we need is to be remade spiritually and Jesus is the only one who can do that.
