Some years ago, we studied through 1 Samuel — you can find this HERE — and saw God give Israel their first king. That king, Saul, turned away from God and brought a great deal of destruction to Israel through his faithlessness. All along the way, God protected His people through David, the man anointed to be the future king.
In 2 Samuel, we look at David’s rule, and see that even the ‘man after God’s own heart’ has a tough time navigating power. In this, we will see that while every human being and institution sins and fails, God uses them to build His kingdom.
