Leviticus + Hebrews

The book of Hebrews is written to prove the superiority of Jesus over all that has come before. This includes the rituals and systems that God set up as shadows of things to come. The author of Hebrews assumes an understanding of OT structure as he uses these types as a picture of what God was setting up in His plan of redemption. We do not have a good understanding of these things, and so it is necessary for us to get a grounding in the signs, so we can better understand what they are pointing to. In this series, we will be simultaneously working through the Book of Leviticus: where God sets the plan and the Book of Hebrews: where we see how Jesus is the fulfillment. As we do this, we will see the complexity and coherency of how God wrote His story in human history.
