Communion Church Parent COVENANT
Celebrate the newest members of God’s Covenant Family. Join with their parents in commitment to raising them in the Faith.
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. | Deuteronomy 6.4-7
The act of raising the next generation for the Lord is a responsibility of the church, and a specific responsibility of parents. In order to reinforce this role, Communion Church has chosen to place a renewal covenant between the parents and the church. This covenant exists for parents and the larger church body to acknowledge the accountability and responsibility that already exists due to the unity of the Spirit. The covenant will be reconfirmed at the birth of each child, giving us the opportunity to remember, but also celebrate as a church the great gift of life.
