JOB | staring into the darkness

JOB | staring into the darkness

Job is a book of questions. Questions are posed to Job; Job poses some questions. Most of the questions end up being aimed at God.

These are questions about suffering, evil, and death. These are the questions that every person must deal with, though too often, these are questions that we ignore for the sake of ease and comfort. It is hard to confront these topics, but in the book of Job, we are given some guidance for the struggle.

Job, with a little help from his friends, ponders the difficulties of this life from every angle. In the end, God comes in to deliver a final word. Through all of this, we are given the opportunity to stare into the darkness, looking at the answers that God gives, but also, being shaped by the answers God gives to the questions we never knew to ask.
