LESS
This Christmas we will take a look at the weeks of ADVENT from a slightly different viewpoint. While we usually talk about LOVE, HOPE and PEACE from a positive standpoint, we experience them in lack. This isn’t to say that what Jesus provides us is not enough, but in our lives, we don’t experience these so wholly as we will in eternity. Sin still has an effect on us.
In this life, we often understand LOVE, HOPE and PEACE by their opposites — by LESS.
This Advent season, we look at what Jesus came to gift us. By recognizing what our lives are without these things, we are able to recognize the grace of God in our lives already and in the life promised to come. This is how we will better understand why Christmas is a time to celebrate, and to make LESS of the momentary for the sake of the eternal.
