A life of order
Proverbs 3 tells us: the Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens. From this, we can be sure that this world operates by the order that He put in place. Following His way is allowing the author of all things to direct us toward His good.
A life of freedom
The father continues to encourage his son toward wisdom, this time using freedom as the tool. His point is that God’s commands are aimed at removing the burdens that sin puts on your life, so that you can be freed to enjoy the full life that God designed.
A life of character
Our search for wisdom brings us to a conversation about character. Proverbs tells us that character will produce wisdom and and wisdom will build character. In order to access this, you need to trust God’s way and put it into practice.
A life of listening
Lady Wisdom cries aloud in the streets! This section introduces us to her and shows us her first address to the young man. In it, she encourages us all to listen to wisdom of God – in the world around us and through His revealed world.
A father’s warning
The father begins his lesson on wisdom by warning his son not to be enticed by fools. If you are surrounded by folly, it makes it very difficult to find the truth.
