Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. | 1 Peter 3.7
Too many husbands have shirked their responsibility to KNOW their wives, to care about them and give them time, to be aware of their strengths and weaknesses, to lead when it isn’t about making a decision on something, because they don’t see it as necessary. Then they can’t figure out why their wives don’t respect them. Leading in marriage is not: I am going to chart a course and call my wife to follow me there. It is adopting God’s goal of marriage and submitting to it.
