Summary
We end the book of 1 Samuel with the end of Saul. As we come to the end of his life, we see how the decisions of Saul’s life have led to a destruction of everything around him: his sons are dead, his army decimated, and the nation of Israel is on the run. In Saul, we get a picture of the results of sin. With this, we also get a glimpse of hope. In his armor-bearer and the valiant men of Jabesh-gilead, we see that it is possible to live with honor in the midst of suffering and chaos. We are called to so the same.
