Summary
After declaring Edom guilty, God lays out the punishment that is coming. This payment is more than revenge…it is justice. It is the right requirement to make things right again. Our God is a God of redemption. This means that He isn’t just here to repair broken things, but His plan is one of making everything perfect. This requires not only the removal of what is bad, but a remaking of what is good. In this final section we see that God promises this full remaking to Judah. Not only will those who mocked them be punished, but they will be blessed and the kingdom shall be the Lord’s. As Judah sits in defeat they know that God will establish His kingdom, they will enjoy it, and justice will be served.
