Summary
Job’s third friend steps in to ‘help’ him. His counsel quickly turns to condemnation. He is not listening to Job or truly understanding Job’s pain. Instead, he chooses to speak down to Job, simplifying his struggle and giving him easy answers. Job chooses to struggle with God. It isn’t that Job wants to continue in grief, but he knows that his only way out is in conversation with God.
