I did it myself

Summary

I read a quote the other day from Jack Black that said: I’m fairly certain YOLO is just Carpe Diem for stupid people. If you did not know, YOLO is short for ‘you only live once,’ which is the motto of those under 30 (even those who now reject the phrase as ‘so yesterday’). Carpe Diem is Latin for ‘seize the day’ and is motto for those who read books for fun. Either way the idea is the same: get the most you can out of this life. The life of Solomon was a life of YOLO; there was nothing he wanted that he did not do. At the end he declared it all meaningless. Living for the present does not add up in the end. Seeking pleasure does not pay off. Your experiences need to serve a purpose, or else they lose their meaning the moment they are over.
