Summary
Jesus answers the challenge of healing on the Sabbath with the claim that He is the Son of God. This authority means that He is the one who decides what is right and wrong, not them. He is the king over the universe, and He is the judge who will make final value judgments on life. He is also the one who rescues. Jesus has declared who He is; over the next few chapters He will give proof to these claims.
