Summary
John slips the story of Jesus walking on water into the narrative of the feeding of the 5,000. He does this to remind us that Jesus both cares about our smallest needs, but is also in control of the greatest powers. He is not bound by the same things we are, including time and chaos. He is in control of all things at all times and working them forward toward His ends.
