Summary
John ends his gospel with Jesus interaction with Peter and a few closing statements. Jesus conversation with Peter is a means to restore him in relationship, to rebuild his identity, and to prepare him for the mission ahead. Jesus takes on Peter’s denial, rather than avoiding it, so that He can remake what was broken by sin. It is only through confronting sin and being remade that we can have the strength to do the work that we have been called to in the Kingdom of God.
