Summary
“Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” | 5-7
CHRIST HAS RISEN! This is the central focus of the Christian faith. This sets Christianity apart from every other religion; Jesus is alive. In the resurrection, Jesus confirms all of His claims; He has done all that he said He would. He is God. While He has been God all along, it is this moment that His sovereignty meets human experience in a full and complete way. It is this moment that gives us hope for something more than this limited life. In the resurrection, Jesus foreshadows the resurrection of the world; the full and complete remaking of His creation in goodness. He places the hints of this restoration in the story of Easter.
