Reframing Defeat

Summary

There is nothing that should be more damaging to the Christian proclamation than the death of Jesus; the man who we say is God dies in humility.  The cross should be the death of Christianity. It isn’t, because Jesus death gives life. This is not defeat, but the next step in God’s plan of redemption. As we look at the cross, we should let it reframe for us what success and defeat look like. If a bloodied man dying a cursed death is how God has chosen to reveal His glory, power may not be what we think it is.
